Emotional Resilience and Accountability

For organizations

The Emotional Resilience and Accountability Training is a two-part course intended to help white-identifying folks stabilize, ground, and fully engage with accountability and movement towards an anti-racist culture.

Developed in direct response to commonly reported challenges folks of color experience in spaces shared with white people, this training is designed to help white folks:

  • Improve listening
  • Increase humility
  • Slow down
  • Calm their sympathetic nervous systems
  • Develop more self-awareness
  • Build more emotional resilience to racial accountability

In this context, emotional resilience means being accountable for the personal and collective legacy of whiteness—carrying that weight with humble dignity. It means repeated willingness to ride the rapids of emotions, with care of the collective as our priority.

PART ONE: Self-paced and online, for self-reflection (approximately 30 minutes for each module)

  • Module 1: Taking inventory of our personal nervous system tendencies
  • Module 2: Leaning into the truth on how whiteness shows up in you
  • Module 3: Slowing down
  • Module 4: Communication in connection (broken up into two parts)

->Throughout this training there will be regular pauses for embodiment practices and time to process emotions that emerge.

PART TWO: Without shame, and in a confidential space, folks share self-reflections from the independent self-paced portion of this course, either in a group or in a 1:1 with Ronin. This is an opportunity to commit and connect with others doing this work.

Great on-boarding training for volunteers!
